Johnny Wvlker is set to release Debut Ep “Wonderland”

New wave rapper Johnny Wvlker has an Ep “Wonderland” slated to be released on October 9th and is already creating a buzz. Wvlker first stepped onto the scene seemingly out of nowhere last summer at the BET Awards after the release of his first track “Gengar” which garnered in more than 200,000 streams in just a couple of months. Since then he has been honing his craft and developing his dynamic sound.

Johnny has gained a solid fanbase with just a few songs on the market. People love his dark melodic vibes and sound to match.

Preluding his “Wonderland” Ep Johnny and his label (Dead Poet Soxiety) dropped the worlds first pop art style rap video “Visions” in early July. It’s a strange yet nostalgic compilation of his favorite films mixed with visual effects and trippy animations. Since then the record has caught fire, picking up more than 5,000,000 streams and almost 500,000 views on YouTube.

We recently got a sneak peek at the Ep, and anyone can tell that this kid is onto something special. Seeing how creative this first project is, we can only imagine what is in store for his future.

Wonderland begins with “Fallin’ Down”, an unexpected trip down the rabbit hole, just like Alice in the famous Lewis Carroll novel. From there he gives us 5 more tracks that roll together seamlessly, ending with a beautiful 2 minute guitar solo on “Pop a Tab”. The project is well designed, exciting, melodic, with a purple spacey drug induced feel and a great representation of who Johnny Wvlker is currently. We hear tones of heavy rock influence and a lot of unique sonic samples. Singles include “Visions” and the unreleased “Demon Babes” and “The Wave”.

In only one year Johnny has gone from having almost no music on the market to building his creative collective Dead Poet Soxiety into a record label, marketing agency, and publishing company. Along with building his personal brand he has put up more than 6,000,000 streams and built a dedicated fanbase which he refers to as his “Poets”. It’s easy to tell with even just a glance this kid is on his way up and not stopping anytime soon.
